Damaged my index knuckle on my lead hand recently, which has made me take a week off and re-evaluate the gloves i'm using. Some pretty cheap Adidas 10oz ones. Way too light for regular heavy bag apparently. Doing some reading on what to get to give better protection.

What gloves do you use / recommend?

See that Winning Gloves have by far the best rep, but coming it at the best part of 300 quid is a bit steep. Would they offer that much extra production for the knuckle than another mid range glove?

Get a pair of Thai made ones like Fairtex, Punch or Windies, good, dense padding, usually, well made, and good value.

I know several people that us Sabas gloves, both sparring and bag gloves, and they are very happy with them.

Ah, the choice of Oscar De La Hoya, I see? Choice of a champion, you have chosen wisely.

Just recently started boxing for the first time since I was a kid. Using 12oz Everlast gloves that came free with membership and Everlast wraps. Anyway whenever I do more than 8 rounds total of pads/heavybag work I end up cut/bleeding at the knuckles. Should I change gloves? Do less bag/pad work? Or just get used to it and toughen up? I'm right around 200 pounds.

Learn how to wrap your hands properly, get someone who knows what they are doing to show you.

Cheers, I had been letting one of the trainers do it/doing it under his supervision. Nobody else there seems to be having the same problem though so perhaps I just have Rob like bitch hands.
