No. It didn't then and probably still doesn't.
Things would make more sense if you read articles yourself before you posted shortcuts to them.
What are you talking about?
Thats exactly what is being asked of you and not just by me.
I do read the articles can you not get the meaning of them without having it explained to you? Let's put this simpler Parker got 2 mill to fight Huey Fury in the U.K right. Now Joshua is accusing Parker of trying to sell his belt by demanding more than 20%. DUCO want 60-40 in Joshua's favour, that's not going to happen going on Parkers last performance or his performance against the morbidly obese Andy Ruiz jr.
Anthony Joshua made 10 million pound against a fill in fighter who Parker lost rounds to. Takam made 750,000 pound a pound is roughly worth twice as much as the dollar so $1.5 million dollars.
Joshua-Parker would be a unification fight would generate a lot more than that and Parker getting 20% would be by far his biggest pay day. Look if they do fight I will be going for Parker but this is by far his best option not only financially but legacy wise if he wins(plus he would get all the Aus/NZ PPV).
If he can get more good luck to him but Joshua's main target would be Wilder as the American market is bigger and US v UK rivalry generates far more interest going back to before I was born Ali-Cooper for instance than UK v NZ rivalry. Anyway good luck to Joseph I hope by holding out he can get a bigger % and not miss out altogether.
Accept the 30% and be thankful
I don't see how $7m really is pricing himself out though. Wilder VS Joshua would be HUGE!!!
The fight no doubt generates enough to get Wilder his 7 and AJ just as much if not more.
It generates much, much more than that, it would do well over £20 million just on PPV money from the UK, let alone selling out a stadium, and all the TV money from around the world
Hearn knows what he's doing, and has done stuff like this whenever there's a big fight in discussion, not sure why people are so shocked by it
Hearn knows $7m is reasonable. He's just trying to play the savy business man.
True it's easily the biggest HW fight out there. I guess Hearn figures Joshua could make big $$$ fighting mandatories or voluntaries(BJ Fores is ranked 10th by the WBA) whilst Wilder can't and is trying to lowball him. I figure because Wilder apparently only got 1.4 million against Stiverne they can get him down to 3-4 million with U.S PPV split in his favour.
I wish they would split it 50-50 as a fan it's more than they could possibly spend but it doesn't work that way.
Fair splits are to be encouraged. But vested interests blur the line of what is fair. If you don't hold a title your bargaining position can be greatly diminished. But if you do hold a title, you have something the other party want, and that's Parker and Wilder's status. If unification fights are going to get made 2018 like Eddie Hearn claims it is going to be about sitting down and finding some common ground. Otherwise these fights simply won't happen.
There is a lot of public chest beating going on particularly on the part of the biggest self promoter in world boxing, Eddie Everywhere Hearn. It is time everyone stopped bullshitting about and got these unification fights made.
Show me a time Hearn has mentioned this fight off his own back and i'll show you 10 where Parker and his team have brought it up
Why can't they negotiate in private? because simple minded people like you fall for this stuff all the time
Says the guy who keeps returning here in the forlorn hope he can patronise posters into thinking Parker should accept 20% and then no time later up it to 30%. Your credibility here is precisely fucking zero after claiming you had me on ignore and then that you wouldn't come back until Joshua fought Parker.
Joshua has said that his initial statement that he wanted Wilder,Parker and Fury in 2018 won't happen.
Wilder is the main target for obvious reasons unless Joseph takes the 20% or maybe 30% with a bit of bargaining. Hopefully Joseph can hang onto his belt until 2019 or a better scenario would be Parker v Wilder winner fights AJ but I haven't heard that mentioned anywhere.
Cannot see Joshua fighting Wilder next up for various reasons. Not the least being nowhere in England will be big enough to accommodate it until after winter. A Parker fight also unlikely to occur until their camps stop offending each other via social media and make a genuine attempt to get the fight made. . The most likely outcome is Hearn keeps with the same formula. One that doesn't involve unification fights any time soon.
Parker’s looking to cash out, he’s got to make this payday the best he can.
A mid 20s heavyweight titleholder is looking to cash out? Yeah sure thing dude LOL.
