Day 38:
Weighed in this morning at 102.7kgs, which is a new best weigh in since the start of the year! Oi! I am buoyed by the fact that I had two days over the weekend just gone where I ate huge cookups of bolognese sauce (no pasta) and sausages and stuff and still managed a decent weigh in.

Today I ate decently well, almost as good as the 3 point effort above, but caved to temptation a couple of times: one was about six potato chips, another was a chocolate bar that was sitting at work, and the third was a slice of vegetarian pizza (deliberately picked a disproportionately smaller one). These actually aren't all that bad, but all the same I'm deducting a point because they technically aren't allowed on my diet.
Almost didn't make it into the gym because I stayed back at work, then couldn't find my pass tag when I got home, so only managed the 30 mins cardio, which is 10 mins rower, 20 mins incumbent bike these days.

Day 39:
Weighed in this morning again at 102.9kgs, so pretty much even.

Started the day with three boiled eggs, then had some peanuts at work. Had a small serve of fried fish pieces at midday, then for lunch I had five lamb kofta balls and some steamed veg with mushroom sauce. Faltered again with a chocolate bar and about 10-15 potato chips. After work I had a small wheel of camembert with 10g smoked salmon, followed by two small tubs of the dairy free yoghurt.
To think I cursed myself after eating the small amount of chips and chocolate. :lol: If not for those it'd have been a three point day, with those I'm still good for a two, some very good eating there.

Did my half hour of cardio on the rower and incumbent bike followed by the bench press routine comprising three different exercises. Packed it all into 50 minutes so it was all done at pace and worked out a good sweat. That's three workout days in a row, tomorrow will be a long one at work, so good eating is imperative.

Day 40:
Ate pretty well all day, as I knew I wouldn't be able to manage a workout. Avoided all the shit that was constantly being waved under my nose... chocolate, chips, fries, pizza. Ate three hard boiled eggs for breakfast, had some fried squid pieces for lunch, some lamb kofta balls at about 4pm, then towards the end of the night, two meals came down from the kitchen that had been mistakes. An eye fillet steak and some herbed lamb cutlets. I fuckin' claimed both as everyone else had been eating junk food all around me all night, and absolutely nailed all the protein and veg off the plates, and left all the creamy mashed potato.

Day 41:
And as has been the pattern on Saturdays, after an insane long work day on the Friday followed by a 9am start, my tiredness absolutely fucked my resolve up the wall and I ate fairly badly. Had a chocolate bar, then had a parmigiana for lunch (melted cheese and all) minus the fries, then when I got home I tried to do that thing where I bought a pie and sausage roll and eatthe meat but chuck the pastry... and failed miserably, just ate the bloody things. Fell asleep by about 8pm and slept right through until 8am. Wrecked.

Day 42:
Well, a bit of a better recovery this day. I started off the day with three hard boiled eggs, then for lunch had a doner/chicken box with salad and no bread. Went and played tennis with my my mates for about two hours, then for dinner had six beef sausages, each worth about 4g of fat each.

Day 43:
Weighed in at 102.3kgs this morning. Had another six beef sausages for breakfast along with two fried eggs. Went into the gym and did 10 minutes on the incumbent bike followed by a leg routine aimed at strengthening my suddenly shit knee. 10x5 smith machine squats, 5x20 leg presses, 6x10 leg extensions, 5x20 dumbbell calf raises. Had about 12 small chicken wings (non-battered and rotisserie cooked) before I went to my two hour tennis group lesson. Did plenty of stop-start running. I'm satisfied to give myself a full six points today given my eating over a long period and effort in a few different exercise disciplines. Knee is a bit sore now, icing and elevating, hoping for the best for tomorrow!

I know your pain... my week starts off civilized enough... then as it wears on I get into the 12 hour, then 14 hour days.
Are you making it into the gym at 5am?? Fucking hell, staunch effort! I've categorically failed at getting into the gym in the mornings.

Day 44:
Weighed in at 101.9kgs this morning. Best weigh in of the year so far!
Started off with three hard boiled eggs, two oranges at work, then a total of nine small lamb kofta balls and a small serve of squid over the course of the day. After work I caved and had a protein bar followed by some ash brie with Danish salami, so a bit fatty, but good carb-restriction overall.

Gym session was a fail though. My knee was fucked all day but managed about 20 minutes total cardio on the rower and the bike, but once again allowed myself to get psyched out of going into the weight room. Pissy effort really, but a very minor setback. I looked back over previous journals and I'm doing pretty well for this time of the year weight wise, and especially with my bum knee.

Tomorrow will be all about great eating!

Day 45:
Fuck... that's about halfway!
Weighed in at 101.6kgs this morning. The goal by day 60 is to crack below 100kgs, and my next cheat day is 4th of March... well on track!
Sadly I got kept back at work tonight and ended up pulling 13 hours, so no workout. Eating could have been a 3, but a chocolate bar and some fatty salted peanuts right at the end of the day fucked it up... I always get hungry like that at the end of a long shift... Doing two more in the coming days too! No excuses. I have to be ready for that same feeling tomorrow night and the following night as well.
Other than the shit listed above I ate three hard boiled eggs, a can of tuna, some cashews, five lamb kofta balls and about five pieces of fried squid.

Day 46
: Weighed in at 101.2kgs. Power of dieting.

This habit of boiling 8-9 eggs at once and leaving them in the fridge has lifted my breakfast game 300%. I'm a bad morning person, usually barely make it to the bus, so cooking/preparing a healthy breakfast has always been a challenge. Now I just grab three of the ones I've boiled up, crack and shell them, slam into them with salt and pepper and I'm good for hours!
Followed it up with 5 lamb kofta balls and some fried squid, which is turning to my go-to fare at work. Low in carbs and controlled portions.
I did fuck up by eating yet another chocolate bar though, probably the only thing keeping me from a 3, as dinner was a salad with chicken and avocado.
Stayed back at work again and barely got into the gym with 15 minutes. But at least I did I guess... Did 5x10 smith squats with weight plates under my heels to elevate/isolate the muscles around my knee (advice from someone who'd been through knee rehab) and FUCK SAKE, what a challenge. After that I struggled getting down the gym stairs at the end as I felt like my quads might lapse!

Also did 5x20 leg presses and 5x10 leg extensions.

Didn't have time to do the calf raises, which is a pisser

I'd started carrying my credit card this week, as I ran out of caffeine drinks in the fridge and can not fucking survive without them.
I already knew, but can verify that that stupid fucking things brings me nothing but trouble. I gave in to a couple of utterly idiotic snacking urges after long shifts this week, in moments of weakness/tiredness, and it just saw the weekend deteriorate into utter fuckery.

Day 47:
Weighed in at 100.9kgs. Double digits were in touching distance, so of course a prime chance to have a fuck up.

Worked until about 11pm, then on the way home had a craving for chicken tikka, which would have been absolutely fine on its own, but as I had my credit card I wound up getting a curry, veg samosa and 2 cheese naan breads as well. It was off the back of a long, physical work day, so it wasn't all bad. But all zeros nonetheless.

Rolled out of bed and dragged my sorry corpse into work and had a fairly decent eating day, to be honest, but no exercise. Had a parmigiana with ham and cheese without the fries, then after work had four small tubs of diary/gluten free yoghurt, which is extremely low in sugar. Had an ice cream craving and just went for the least evil thing out there, and did pretty well I think!

Day 49: Here's where things got bad. Started out with a carby breakfast as I was heading into work at 7am on Sunday. Something of a tradition. Ate a bag of chips at work too. Had some Chinese food at the foodcourt on the way home. Did a solid workout then completely fucking pigged out that evening.

20 minutes total cardio on the rower and incumbent bike, then a solid chest workout consisting of smith bench, heavy dumbbell bench press, incline bench press then cable flyes.

Followed it with a total cheat meal oblivion.

Another day of terrible eating as I'd just gone the whole hog with cheat day this weekend. Not the worst sin as I'd considered a fortnightly cheat day plan going forward with this, but I can honestly say this whole thing is a result of the Friday night lapse.

Boiled up some eggs for tomorrow and the next 12 day healthy stint before official cheat day on the 4th of March. Not denying myself that, no sir.

Back on the wagon.

Didn't weigh. Eating was excellent today as I started the day with three boiled eggs, had some kofta balls with red wine sauce at midday, then some squid pieces with steamed veg for lunch. Followed it with some nuts a bit later in the day, then had three more boiled eggs for dinner.

20 minutes of cardio (bike and rower) followed by the same bench/chest routine as above, including smith, dumbbell presses, incline smith and cable flyes.

I didn't actually do anything yesterday apart from realise being ill then jumping into training leaves me feeling knackered. So I felt knackered and had a cottage pie for dinner. It was real nice and lean, but no points and none for a lack of training over the weekend. I'm going to throw a few points in for my sessions last week, a 3 points for a mega blast which did me in a two 1 pointers for two light sesions of cardio.

Another Friday at work, a long day hence no exercise. Eating was relatively dicey, caving in to crisps a couple of times and a few bits of chocolate that were floating around like always, but my meals were light and low carb, so with the physical nature of the shift, it still worked out as a successful day! Pretty happy that I could post a PB after the blowout last weekend! Might be the way forward in the coming months, as I fucking hate dieting so much.

...and as a result had a new personal best weigh in since the beginning of the year, 100.6kgs.
Eating really wasn't too bad for a Saturday this time, although the chefs at work made me some nachos without cheese or sour cream without my asking, and I of course demolished them, corn chips and all. Had my usual feast of fake coconut yoghurt that night along with some cured meats, boiled eggs and cheese.

Had to get up early this day for a 7am start at work, and avoided stupid carbs early in the day with some success, eating protein bars and the like until roast minus potato at lunch time. On the way home though, I stopped in at the foodcourt with the intention of eating something low carb yet fatty, but ended up eating butter chicken with a cheese naan. That evening I did another workout exactly the same as the Thursday evening, with 10 mins cardio and a weight circuit, this time with an increase in weight. After that had some more Indian takeaway without the rice, but had another cheese naan, a samosa. Overall, another unplanned cheat day, but happy I managed the exercise at least.

Day 57:
Started the day well enough, with four boiled eggs, but forgot I'd organised to meet a mate for lunch today at a legendary Lebanese chicken shop in Western Sydney. I could have gone there and eaten healthily, but he ordered a big fuck off bowl of fries, which I couldn't resist, and I absolutely hooked into the flat breads. He's the kind of mate to relentlessly heckle you when you tell him you're on a diet too. :lol: Ah well. Ate a fucking bootload. Food was unbelievably good, not greasy at all... could actually eat healthy in this place if you set your mind to it, amazing chicken and felafels, tahini and salads... Even the occasional bit of flatbread won't bloody kill you, but the sheer amount we ate, and the fries, mean I can't score myself too highly here.
Got into the gym for 20 minutes cardio and the squat routine tonight, 5x8 elevated heel squats, 5x20 leg presses and 5x20 calf raises.

A period not without its transgressions, but a personal best weigh in in there, and no dreaded double zero days, every day had at least one positive aspect! Lost a battle or two, but winning the war for now!

Light cardio with me trying to get back to a proper diet. At the moment I'm eating healthy without a carb deficit just to get my strength back and energy so it was a home made chilli with lean beef mince and a wholegrain rice/quinoa side. In the afternoon I had two lean homemade burgers with a load of salad which were fantastic and very lean. The rest of the day was good too with fruit an nuts for snacks. Followed that day with a few treats while I watched the football.

Day 58:
Was still full from all the eating yesterday (really was that bad) so I skipped breakfast and had a lunch consisting of kofta and squid, then had some more kofta and a boiled egg for dinner. Biggest transgression of the day was about 6 or 7 chips. Day at work was long and physical, with plenty of keg hauling. Got home late and just made it into the gym with about 28 minutes to utilise as best I could.
Did a back circuit consisting of 5x8 lat pull downs, seated cable rows, bent over reverse flyes and cable cross body pulls.

So since Thursday I managed to gash the bottom of my foot wjich kinda messed plans up a bit. Its not a really bad one, but it is about two inch and a tad deeper than needed which means walking is uncomfortable. I closed it up myself so should be OK soon enough.

The diet has not been good. Took the wife out over the weekend and ate a load of treats. Did manage to gym twice since Thursday so that was great, one light session and one real good one even if I didn't go all out.

Well last week was utterly fucked in terms of work, a solid 70 hours and the last couple of days were brutal, with some long, physical shifts.

I had a planned cheat day on the Sunday, and the eating was by-and-large good, but it failed as I got to the weekend, after my long Friday shift I had two krispy kreme donuts, some noodles and a bunch of other crap... ate fairly light on the Saturday as it was the Sydney Mardi Gras day, and therefore an extremely long, busy and physical day of work. The thing I screwed up there was I broke my drinking duck. I'm not gonna be too hard on myself given that I'd made it more than two months, and it really was a brutal work week. Haven't posted a workout since last Tuesday, but Wednesday and Thursday were 2 point eating days. No points since.

Day 65:
Off the back of a planned cheat day which I really didn't earn, I managed a halfway decent eating day... for the first part of it. After a little balls-up from the payroll people, pay was given to me in the form of an envelope of cash, and just as my credit card gets me into trouble, so too does having cash. I absolutely pigged it with Indian takeaway, and told myself I wasn't being too bad because I skipped the rice.
I had plenty of time to work out after work, but I was still utterly burnt after three brutal weeks of work, so I took the chance to get a good, long sleep.

Another good start to the day in terms of eating, starting off with a green apple, and a low carb protein cookie, then for lunch I (again) had a smoked salmon salad... Still had a pocket full of cash so I fucked it a little by going to the Japanese takeaway and eating two bento boxes without the rice for dinner, followed by two low carb protein bars. I can give myself an honest score of 2 for the eating.

Exercise was on its way to another 2, but after my 20 minutes on the incumbent bike, the stuff I wanted to use in the weights rooms were all being used. Smith machine, leg press, cable stand... Fuck sake, the whole point I go at that time of night is so I can have free pick of equipment. Fucker.

Not the greatest day, but a good day to stop the slide and build on. Any successful diet needs some of these.

Day 67:
started off with three boiled eggs and an apple, had a smoked salmon salad for lunch, then had a bag of cashews, a couple of pieces of chocolate and about five fries...
It would be three points if not for those fucking fries and chocolate...
Yet another 12 hour shift and got into the gym with half an hour to work.
Did the usual bench circuit, with a weight increase on the smith bench sets.

I'm glad I've managed a second semi-constructive day in a row, but I need to kick it up a gear if I want actual results rather than a bunch of break-even frustrating shit.
