Day 4:
Weighed in this morning, predictably, almost two full kgs lighter than yesterday, at 108.4kgs. Happy with that weigh in as it now gives me a better understanding of where I'm at, and I ate late last night too as I watched tennis, (some cheese and salmon), so I might even be lighter.

Ate decently enough most of the day, having the same sausages and veg with mushroom sauce for lunch, followed by a cut price bento box from the local Japanese takeaway after work... I skipped the rice but faltered and ate the small side of udon noodles in one of the little compartments. Stopped into the supermarket on the way home for a few bits and pieces and stupidly bought a small wheel of camembert and a pack of sliced chorizo and blew my fat allotment to kingdom come.
I'm not quite so hard on myself at the moment though, as I'm just abysmally out of rhythm at the moment. I'll grade myself harder as I get my form back.

Got into the gym for the treadmill workout and powered through the first twelve minutes before I felt a little pain in my troublesome knee. Instantly stopped and shifted my attention to the weight room and completed 5x8 flat bench on the smith machine, 3x6 dumbell bench presses with pretty much the heaviest I could manage followed by the dip-simulator, 3x6 again.

Pecs and triceps were absolutely aching afterwards, so I feel good that I'm putting some of those fuck-arse lazy calories to work.

Diet: 2 (a somewhat loose 2, but effective in carb limitation)

Leaving my gym end of month as got lot of time away from work + change work location, so Jan aim is to just keep diet constant and getting in exercise 5 times a week somehow.

Weight's around 165lbs, first day back work / gym so did good. Not beast mode but considering last 2 weeks haven't done exercise pretty happy.

Had travel for work = no gym time. Went for a efforted walk though. Only 2 for diet as had a burger in a roll.

Did 15 mins on treadmill then shoulders, biceps still feeling Tuesday workout. Went out for a meal for an occasion so diet of a monk took a hit.

@oldjoe try putting a total points beneath the diet and exercise scores then give yourself a space before adding that total score to your overall score. So you should be on 11 points overall...I think.

Nice to see you join and @RappingKungFuToaster. I had a great week before Christmas day then a great Christmas of food and festivities. New Year and I'm going to give this a good go.

Day 1

Day 2

Great day at the gym. Managed to get a full session in so got in the full amount of weights. Later on I went for a decent walk with the wife and kids too. Had porridge for breakfast and snacked on fruit and a few nuts. For dinner a chance to cook a spicey tomato based pasta meal with a load of really lean mince was perfect to warm me up. Left it very light on the pasta so great way to get things going. 6 point day.

Day 3

I really wanted another fitness session, but my muscles decided against it. Managed to eat light all day. Porridge again for breakfast and a load of fruit plus a low fat and sugar yoghurt snacked on. Cooked the family a chilli before they went out for the evening, again loads of extra lean mince meat. Skinless chicken breast went down great as a late night treat.

Day 4

Again light cardio. I did fancy a big gym session, but had been out with the family to see Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at the theater. Brilliant stuff. After that we had food and it was getting late so settled down for the evening. Food was good with the exception of a ice cream at the theater. I had a chicken breast with peppers for lunch, porridge for breakfast and a bowl of wheatabix late on with the usual mix of nuts and fruit spread through the day.

Day 5:
Designated "rest" day today, as all Fridays are, as I do a long shift at work. Started the day with three eggs and two small tins of tuna, and for lunch had a lean salmon steak grilled. Kept it fairly sensible for most of the day, faltered with yet another bag of salted peanuts (pub life), and ate a late dinner (9:45pm) of sausages and steamed veg with mushroom sauce. One the way home from work I bought a wheel of brie and some cured meat. Once again blowing my fat content away but I know wel enough that you can getaway with a bit of bullshit when you're more overweight as your body will burn off weight quickly all the same. I needn't put myself through too much misery too early.
Should mention I weighed in at 107.4kgs this morning. Flush of goop is on.

Day 6:
Weighed in slightly heavier at 107.8kgs this morning but not too concerned as I didn't exercise and late fairly late.
slept in, skipped breakfast, ate yet another bag of fucking peanuts and for lunch had a chicken burger without bread or fries. Basically chicken, bacon, mixed leaf, tomato onion and cheese held together by leaves of cos lettuce. Ate a small serve of fried squid later in the day and for dinner had a curry without rice and five fish cocktails (fried and battered, which takes a possible 3 point day down to a 2 point day). Portions were sensible and fairly good in terms of dodging carbs.
Had every intention of getting to the gym today but got home from work and stretched out to watch the end of the Kerber/Bencic match, and woke up an hour later. I was fucking wrecked. These long shifts take their toll and recovery time is longer too.

So it is Sunday morning right now and shockingly, I weighed in at a svelte 106.6kgs, even after drinking two 500ml cans of energy drink (sugar free).

There is fluid flush and actual weight loss in there. I look a but leaner already. It's a day off for me so I'll definitely get in a worout when it cools down outside (fucking 45 degrees out there, and humid). Just ate the worst carb-free meal possible, but definitely building to better things.

Day 7:
As stated above weighed in at 106.6kgs (235.01lbs) even after I'd drank 1L of fluid this morning, and was absolutely shocked. Went about my day and ate pretty terribly without breaking the carb rule, had a doner meat and chicken box with salad (tabouli and Greek salad), two lo-carb protein bars (felt like something sweet, each had a whopping 60g of protein each) and then couldn't resist my usual wheel of soft cheese and cured meat (a habit I'll have to break as I get closet to optimal weight and fat loss subsequently slows down)... Then finished it all off with two tubs of dairy free yoghurt (more sweet stuff, which is very low in carbs).

This is way too much for one sitting, in terms of volume, not to mention trans fats, so I endeavoured not to eat any more for the day (which I haven't)... so to think of it as three meals over the course of a day, is not nearly as bad.

Hit the gym for a half hour on the treadmill followed by 5x8 smith machine bench press, 3x6 heaviest possible dumbell bench press, 3x6 dip machine, and 3x8 cable tricep pull downs.

Day 8: 105.8kgs
this morning, and no exercise as today was my day to head out to the Apia International tennis. A good old booze free day of solo sports appreciation.
For breakfast ate another lo-carb protein bar (only 25g if protein, not 60, read the fucking packet wrong) and another döner box with two salads and chilli and garlic sauces. Had one more dairy free youghurt tub too.
At the tennis was extremely well behaved and ate only a serving of buffalo wings with blue cheese sauce.

@RappingKungFuToaster how'd you go with those protein bars down in Aus? They've really taken off over here and are everywhere. Supermarkets have really got on the fitness gear selling including food stuff like the shakes and bars, they sell the bars on a lot of check outs too as you leave. Most petrol stations sell protein bars too. Unfortunetly most of them are so full of sugar that they are useless.

I generally get them when I'm craving a chocolate bar or something! And only the low carb ones. They're pretty useful that way I find. its pretty much never about boosting my protein...

Day 9:
Well I kinda fucked it up before I got home from the tennis last night, stopped at the late night supermart and picked up another stupid fucking wheel of cheese and a pack of salami... weighed in this morning at 106.6kg but not too fussed as I ate so late and didn't have a good sweating out of fluid.

Ate alright today, another effort worthy of a 2, had an orange at work, then a serving of steamed vegetables with mushroom sauce at about midday. For lunch I had bangers and steamed veg again. Would've been happy to have left it there, but popped into the Japanese shop and once again picked up two bento boxes. This time I was better and skipped the small side of noodles as well as the rice.

Half an hour on the treadmill in the gym followed by the same three part bench press circuit as I've been doing every second day. 5x8 smith bench press, 3x6 heaviest dumbell bench presses and 3x8 dip machine.

Hey hey, managed a day without cheese and fatty cured meats, fuckin' hooray for me!

Really good cardio session, absolute limit which was great. Diet wise I hit it pretty well. Bacon on its own in the morning and a very nice chilli for dinner, snacked on fruit and nuts. Managed to get some blue berries and grapes in which was a super idea for my late night XBOX session.

The wife has a busy week so me nipping out to the gym is going to be tough...especially has she has a shoppin trip for us planned Friday night instead of me getting my big session in that night. So missed out on a worek out. Kept the diet up though. Lovely dinner of chicken breast and a plate full of greens, load of broccoli, peas, cabbage and spinach. Again on the fruit and nuts, snuck in a bag of jerky too.

Day 10:
Weighed in at 106kgs even, which represents a slight gain in raw weight from my previous best, but an improvement on yesterday. Not fussed. Weight is at best a guide.

Felt like I was 102 years old trying to drag my sorry corpse out of bed this morning, fuck I shouldn't have got so fat over the holidays. Skipped breakfast and only just scraped into work on time. Ate an orange and had a spicy tomato juice, then at noon had some fried chicken pieces with a light batter (not greasy). For lunch it was bangers and veg again, then for dinner it was two bento boxes, skipping the rice and noodles. No stupid peanuts today, but had two cheese slices.

I am still playing a little fast and loose with my portions and fats, but for now the results are coming, and that whole cold turkey thing fucked me up last time. I'm looking to moderate a bit better for the next three months, not make my life a joyless, living nightmare.

Only managed half an hour on the treadmill tonight, no weight training. Just didn't get there in time.

Day 11:
Went to work on an empty stomach again and had a smoked salmon benedict without toast for a late (11am) breakfast, which was absolutely fucking outstanding. Two eggs, hollandaise and smashed avocado. Had some fried squid without batter at about 1pm, then some fried chicken pieces at 3. Had another bento at 5pm without the rice or noodles, and some bbq chicken and shredded carrot when I got home. One slice of cheese then off to the gym!

half an hour on the treadmill and the same bench press circuit over again. Need to inject some variety into it, but after the fuckery of December, I'm just happy I'm showing up.

105.6kgs this morning. Heading the right way.

, happy with that.
Once again, off to work on an empty stomach and ate a bag of cashews. At 2pm I had a lunch of a chicken burger minus the fries and bun, with lettuce leaves to pick the thing up. It was stupid busy at work so I ordered two tapas-sized portions of lamb kofta balls over a period of about five hours. I also ate five pieces of chocolate that someone brought in to share, and one slice of cheese just as I got home.

The chocolate pieces weren't ideal, but the above was actually my entire intake over a very physical day, so while I won't mark myself anything for exercise, I'm still giving myself a 2 for diet.

Day 13:
I started this day with a family breakfast at which I was mostly well-behaved, eating poached eggs with tomatoes and rashers of bacon with the fat cut off, but ended up eating three pieces of buttery toast because it was right fucking there and I have so self control. Had a chicken parmigiana for lunch minus the fries, a few more chocolate pieces, then decided it was a cheat day and ate Indian takeaway with cheese naan, and some sushi followed by a big tub of fatty yoghurt.
This was not a scheduled cheat day, just a old fashioned fuck up. Not the most heinous transgression after a fortnight of good behaviour and decent progress.

14/1/2018

Day 14:
I ate as badly as possible today while not breaking the carb rule, so a slight improvement on the day before to hold me in good stead going forward. Had a wheel of cheese with fatty cured meat along with a three egg smoked salmon omelette for a late breakfast, then played tennis with my mates in the afternoon. It wasn't constant exertion, but we played and hit for a good three hours! For dinner I made a pot of curried sausages, with eight beef sausages that I'd boiled before chopping and adding in, which removed a significant amount of fat! Was skeptical as to how effective it would be, but you can actually see it in the water! I ate the whole fucking lot though. A travesty of portion control.

Day 15:
So I met a friend for lunch today and we went to a Thai restaurant, and I ate perhaps the most delicious carb free meal I've ever had, consisting of four satay chicken skewers and a Thai beef salad. The whole thing was absolutely outstanding, filling and packed with good stuff (and the leafy greens I can seemingly never be arsed eating while at work).
I ate two protein bars later in the day, but faltered with some chocolates she gave me as a gift (all my friends know I'm fucking obsessed with Ritter Sport chocolate). Despite this transgression I still consider this one of the best most balanced days of eating I've had this month!

Went to tennis class and did plenty of running over two hours, and in an unprecedented move, went to the gym straight afterwards for some weight training: 5x8 smith bench, 5x6 heavy dumbell bench presses, 3x6 incline smith bench presses, 5x8 dumbell shoulder flyes and 3x6 barbell shoulder presses.

Not too keen on weighing in after a cheat day weekend, at least until I've done the treadmill workout to flush out the goop.

Day 11

Week still complete shambles for training. Food wise the wife had to pull a all night effort so I managed to make sure she was going to be healthy and energised. Fell down on the carbs with a decent whallop of rice with a home made lean mince chilli, before that t was porridge and snacking of lots of good stuff. Typical berries, oranges, apples and nuts day.
