I know Butterbean is regarded as a joke by many, but he's punching power is fierce. I know he stands zero chance of defeated guys like Ali, Frazier, Louis, Liston, Tyson, Lewis but how would he fare against this list of men?

    Klitschko ×2
    Jersey Joe Walcott
    Ezzard Charles
    Tua
    Holyfield
    Marciano
    Jack Johnson
    Ezzard Charles
    Dempsey

And you think that list may be easier targets-----WHY???? The only fighter I see on that list I can even imagine him having a chance against is Klitschko, and if x2 you mean both of them, then it's Wladimir he may be able to beat with that china chin he possesses.

He would not get out the first round or two against any of the others.

You've got to be kidding with this thread...Butterbean maybe shouldn't be considered a "joke" per se, but he is decidedly inferior to any of the names you've listed, even those perceived as somewhat "chinny" compared to others. Butterbean Esch would lose decisively, as in be "outclassed" to all on the list. The pairing with the relatively smallish Jack Dempsey is somewhat comical in that Dempsey in particular, would have utterly destroyed Butterbean.

    I don't think any version Klitschko ×2
    Jersey Joe Walcott
    Tua
    Holyfield
    Marciano
    Dempsey

    Was ever worse than Butterbean.

Johnson probably still had enough in his last fights. (even if it wasn't much)

He could maybe beat Ezzard Charles in his final fight.
Though I'm pretty sure Charles should be the clear favourite. Even if Charles was far gone.

I remember on mimmys boxing archive (recently deleted which is an asbolute disgrace in my book he had an encyclopaedia of fights on that channel) I had the pleasure of hearing Ian Darke commentate on a Butterbean fight, he said something along the lines of "please for the love of god do not suggest putting this man in with a top 10 heavyweight"

Well, it was no mystery the guy was a novelty act in boxing. I mean, who else could have made a fair living out of being labeled "King Of The Four Rounders" all those years. Most pros fight no more than 5-6 four rounders before moving up to 6 or 8 and progress from there.

There's a big gap between having a suspect chin and losing to fucking Butterbean. I don't even rate Wlad particularly highly but compared to you I'm an absolute Klittard

True that I am no fan of the guy. He's tentative at best and all I can hear when I think of Wlad is listening to Manny Steward pleading with him in more than a few fights to get out there and throw leather and use his God given gifts to get his opponents out.

The guys style reminds me of a bigger version of John Ruiz, another fighter that can put me to sleep while trying to watch a fight.

He lost to a 52 year old Larry Holmes. That's all that needs to be said about Butterbean.

No chance whatsoever against any of the guys listed. He might make it into the second round, but I'm not even sure about that. He'd probably last longer against Patterson, but not significantly.

Depending on the odds I'd place a bet on Patterson getting knocked down.

Surely 50/1 would be worth it.

Ha! Maybe so, as long as you don't bet more than you can afford to lose.
