    From the Scene...

"According to Umar Kremlev, manager of Fedor Chudinov (14-1, 10KOs), they are close to a deal to fight George Groves (25-3, 18KOs) for the vacant WBA super middleweight title on February 25th in the UK.

The World Boxing Association had ordered Chudinov and Groves to fight reach other for the vacant belt and gave them until January 5th to reach a deal before a purse bid was ordered. Kremlev says they reached an agreement on the terms with Sauerland Event, who handle Groves, without the necessity of a purse bid."

Dickens vs Ward is set for Manchester on the same day but I guess it wouldn't be hard to move it to London on this bill. Wouldn't be the best start to Warren's BT deal if he had to compete with Groves in a world title fight on terrestrial tv

Hrunov's been quoted as saying that Ustinov's fighting in the UK on February 25th, not sure whether that's on Warren's show or this, or if they're the same show.

Possible that this is in Manchester, Kremlev is quoted as saying London but it's not unusual for foreign fighters to say they're fighting in London then for it to be announced as elsewhere. Would make more sense for it to be in Manchester than London anyway if Flanagan and Dickens-Ward is on it.

Why? Groves is a much bigger attraction compared to Flanagan.

The whole card's been set up for Manchester until now, none of those fighters sell in London but Groves is a big enough name to sell as well in Manchester as he does in London, he's not like Warrington or similar fighters where he's the hometown fighter with the city behind him.

Groves is looking much improved lately, Shane is definitely getting the best out of him. He looks explosive, and more importantly his fitness is getting better, he finished strong against Guktneckt, which we don't usually see from him. He should outbox and beat Chudinov in a clear points decision. Chudinov is decent but not near world class.

On a side note, if Degale wins this weekend, wouldn't he have to fight Callum Smith before he fights Groves? Degale and Callum Smith is a pickem, and I'd pick Smith to beat Groves.

Doubtful but it would be interesting if they both picked up titles if they fought each other in a unification or went to Degale. Potentially some very good British fights in the division this coming year or so.
