Div, there are no rules to something like this, and it doesn't change. Well, i guess it does if you enter with that crappy type of mentality. But when it comes to who speaks for who, it always depends on what's being discussed, and who says it (Of course).

If a manager says his guy wants to break a record, then you can bet that's likely said in agreement with the fighter. If a trainer says his guy can beat up everyone in the world, that's just an opinion.

It's not rocket science.
I don't agree that we can bet a manager saying someone wants to break a record is likely said in agreement with the fighter but a trainer saying a guy can beat everyone from a few weight classes is likely just his opinion and not the fighters.

We had Virgil Hunter saying Ward would move up when his body was ready, but since Ward said he'd one day want to move to HW everyone ignored Virgil and said Ward needs to move up like he was asking GGG to, because he said he'd one day like to fight at HW. If that's the case then Lara's Manager cannot speak on when Lara wants to move up if Lara has said he wants someone at 160 next, correct?

If a manager is saying his fighter wants to unify, HOW is that an opinion based comment? It isn't, for the simple fact that an opinion wasn't raised.

This is just garbage Div. Completely meaningless. You are trying to apply rules, when there aren't any. What one trainer or fighter says has nothing to do with anyone else. Classic case of over-analyzation and trying to apply rules where there aren't any.

You didn't say anything about unifying, you said something about breaking a record. A trainer may say a fighter wants to break a record for something at a weight while the fighter and his body have plans on moving up before that's done, so it would be an opinion of the trainer IMO.

 Okay Mal! Virgil says Ward isn't ready to move up and Ward says in the future he does want to, so CHB says Ward needs to move up as he said he wants to fight at HW in the future. Lara's manager says Lara wants to stay at 154 for title defense record and Lara says he wants GGG next, but it's wrong to say Lara has the say not his manager like Ward does.

Doesn't matter if I said unifying or wants to break a record for defenses. That statement isn't an opinion. YOu need to look up what "opinion" means.

Apply your silly rules then, and make a big deal out of nothing if you must. Your style of over-analyzation isn't practical.

If Lara is saying he wants to fight a 160 champion next and his trainer is saying Lara wants to break the record for most title defenses at 154, that seems like they're on different pages and the trainer isn't speaking based on fact or knowledge. :conf

Do you think we should believe Lara saying he wants GGG next, or his manager saying he wants the most title defenses record at 154 instead?

I know we're going to go in circles, so your answer to the question below is where I'll leave it, if you give me an answer and not "it depends like I believe you will!"

No offense, but you can act dense with someone who wants to entertain your "logic."

EDIT: Div...apply some freaking knowledge here. If Lara was going to 160, like you say, and yet, he's defending his 154 title instead, well, guess who is more right. The one saying his guy wants to break a record, or the one saying he's gonna fight at 160?

Stop. None of this matters.

Lara isn't in a position to "want" anything at 160. He means very little to that weight class. If he really wants to make a name for himself he and his fat manager know what to do, but they're not doing anything except whining on social media.

Lol, I knew I wasn't getting a straight answer. Could have said neither like dude above you, although I would have followed up asking for your opinion on the subject, which I doubt you would actually answer... :hi:

You got an answer, you just don't know how to grasp that answer and apply it because you are dead set on some imaginary rules for who can speak for whom. My 9yo nephew is more adept at applying knowledge FFS.

Lara isn't in a position to 'want' anything at 160? What?!! Sounds like you're saying he's not in a position to demand anything, which I have agreed with in the past saying he needs to fight at 160 and get a title if he thinks he'll get GGG in the ring..

What do you believe we should believe in Lara's case if not him wanting the 160 champion or record for 154 title defenses?
That's the thing, I don't know. They're all over the place. I don't believe either one of them. Something's not adding up right when you look at Lara's last 5 opponents.

That's correct.

Who cares what he and his fat manager are saying, they're not acting.

Not a single post of mines said Lara was going to 160..... I also said Lara said his NEXT fight he wants GGG at 160, not this current fight, so the rest of your post must not be replying to something I said?

My fighter wants to break a record...

My fighter can beat up everyone on the planet....

Only one of these is an actual opinion. That really shouldn't require an explanation, as long as you passed 9th grade HS.

We have no way of knowing Lara and his trainer specifically talked about breaking the title defense record before he said that comment. Same as we have no way of knowing GGG and his trainer didn't discuss him being able to beat anyone from 154-168 before he said that comment.

But if you do actually have something that shows/says these discussions happened/didn't, I'm sure we'd all love to read/watch.
