After all the calling out Lara has done, it was still Loeffler who contacted Haymon about him. Then DeCubas went on to say the things he did regarding the fight. Tells you all you need to know about how they actually feel.

Yes he does... Hopefully if the fight doesn't happen Lara isn't immediately the one blamed for it, unless his team does something to stop the fight from happening.

Depends on who you want to listen to, manager or fighter.. Seems to change on this site depending on the stance one wants to take. GGG's team cannot speak for him (154-168 blah blah)... So Lara's shouldn't be able to either, right?

Life pro tip: If you're a fighter and you've got a fight coming up, or if you're a retired fighter who now has a promotional company and you're promoting a fighter who has a fight coming up, or if you're a retired fighter with a commentary gig coming up...

    Say something, anything, about Golovkin.

    Guaranteed publicity.

In fact if you don't use Golovkin's name for free publicity then you suck at promotion and I judge you harshly. It's promotion 101. Anyone who doesn't have Golovkin's name in their mouth is dropping the ball. Either you want to fight GGG, or you think so and so would beat GGG, or you're too big and strong for GGG. Choose one and mention it on twitter or in an interview or wherever.

Get your shit together people. Rule 1: say something about Golovkin.

    So much wrong with this.

Tell Loeffler how easy it was to get this fight. Seemed incredibly hard given Jacob's and/or his team's expectations. Fight probably wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for Tom's persistence. Your post also does a disservice to Jacobs himself by assuming it's easy to steamroll Quillin and others on a path to a mandatory position.

That's ridiculous man. I have no problem with GGG fighting Jacobs and Lemiuex. I asked for those fights to happen. Why would any fan of GGG prefer him fight weltwerweights and bums on house arrest over Lara? And why should fans let Andrade get away with this cowardly shit?

"“I don’t know. If that’s[fight with Lara] the last resort, than yeah, I’m going to take the fight,”

Yeah I read him say this in that article.

"Lara's the type of fighter that doesn't need to fight 3 fights to move up in weight," explained DeCubas, Jr. "When the gates open for 160 he'll move up whether its Golovkin or rematch with Canelo, Danny Jacobs, or Billy Saunders. There's a lot of big fights there but for now he's going to keep defending his title because he wants to break the record for the most title defenses."

So he'll move up to fight for a title at 160 with no tuneup. I personally would just rather see him campaign there at this point.

Jacobs has been the WBA regular champion for a while. He could have fought Sergio Mora 5 times and still been mandatory.

Golovkin vs Jacobs wasn't an easy fight to make. Period.

I'm not going to waste time explaining to you why the Brook fight was made. I didn't think it was a good fight but I know why it was made.

Jacobs is arguably the #2 in the division. Everything seems to indicate he'll get Canelo next, again I shouldn't have to explain why we would like this fight.

I can only speak for myself, but after watching Lara get backed up and run for dear life against a guy that's mediocre at coming forward (Canelo), I don't think he's much of a trophy or challenge for the bigger, stronger, and worse style matchup Golovkin.

Would I watch it if it happened? Sure, but I'm not going to demand it.

I'm not defending Andrade, that dude isn't fighting anyone. He needs to start fighting.

That's fine and dandy but then you have guys like Bball and Divi in here trying to say Golovkin is ducking Lara because he calls him out on Twitter.

Ah you're right, Bball is the only irrational GGG hater in the thread.

I think bball just wants GGG to fight someone he thinks will be a challenge. People on boths sides are inconsistent, yet only one side is called out. :conf

People are acting like Lara's manager can speak for him, but we know from the 154-168 saga managers/trainers cannot speak for the fighter.. Why is nobody correcting them but myself? Everything bball posts on the subject has several replies though....

Yeah I won't waste time explaining why the Foreman fight was made either :good.

and I have no problem with GGG fighting Lemiuex, Canelo Jacobs, Saunders, etc. In between those fights, GGG is fighting Monore, Brook, and the guy on house arrest however. GGG's team literally said they picked Monroe because they wanted to face a slick southpaw. Lara was signed to fight nobody at that time and was willing to fight at 160.

Credit to Canelo btw for demanding to fight a stylistic nightmare

where did I say GGG was ducking Lara?

I see a fighter who is having a hard time getting good fights. A good fighter begs to fight him and he turns it down. Why wouldn't I raise an eye to that? It's not like Lara is turning down fights against anybody. If Keith Thurman called out Lara, Lara would sign to fight him the next day.

What because a Tweet said so? Tweets aren't contracts. I guess GGG is ducking Gary O'Sullivan too.

I see a fighter who has a large promotional backing with a huge stable of fighters, and he's fighting Yuri Foreman. I'm sure people will take him seriously as a fighter for sure if he fights Carson Jones next as well.

Lara also could've moved up long after he took his loss to Canelo and possibly rematched Angulo at 160 lbs. and then fought Korobov, Monroe Jr., N'Dam, Lemieux, or even Stevens instead of wasting everyone's time talking garbage on Twitter. Then fighting the likes of Delvin Rodriguez and Yuri Foreman.

That if Lara wants the fight he can call Golovkin out on twitter a couple of times a year (knowing that DeCubas isn't genuinely interested in making the fight) or he can do what Jacobs did and get the fight mandated.
