    http://www.boxingscene.com/lara-manager-everyone-avoiding-golovkin-were-ready--112328

By Reynaldo "El Papi Chulo" Sanchez

Luis DeCubas Jr., manager of IBO and WBA super welterweight world champion Erislandy Lara 23-2-2 (13 KO's), believes the fight with Yuri Foreman - scheduled for January 13 at Hialeah Park Racing & Casino, Hialeah, Florida - is a good way to keep the Cuban active while they wait for better challenges in 2017.

"Erislandy has faced the best and keeps his status as an elite boxer as super welterweight. Lara, in my opinion, defeated Canelo Alvarez despite what the judges said that night. At the moment, he is undoubtedly one of the best in his weight class, and we took this fight against Foreman to keep Lara active," said DeCubas Jr.

Lara’s team has tried to face the best fighters within their reach, but they have not been able to secure any agreement at the moment. Lara, despite the criticism, is still one of the best super welterweight.

"We are in the best position, but now we are focused on Yuri Foreman who is a former world champion and gave Miguel Cotto a great fight. Later we will see what happens. We want to make a fight with undefeated Demetrius Andrade or a unification fight and maybe a mega-fight against Golovkin at middleweight," said DeCubas Jr.

Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs) is scheduled to make a mandatory defense of middleweight titles on March 18th against Daniel Jacobs at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Lara's manager says they are ready to make that fight.

"People think everyone is avoiding Golovkin. They say no one wants to fight Gennady, but we are ready to make that fight. Lara has the perfect style to make a great fight and defeat Golovkin at middleweight," DeCubas said.

"Erislandy Lara has proven to be one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. He has faced the best and he's beaten them, including 'Canelo' Alvarez and we all saw it. If the money is right, we would love to do a mega-fight against the best middleweight in the world as Genaddy Golovkin."

DeCubas must be on crack if he thinks Lara beating Yuri Foreman is going to put him in the running to fight Gennady.

Lets hope these fighters actually accept Lara's invitation to fight. GGG and Andrade have already turned him down. #Facts

    Bball don't.

Look at what Jacobs did, that's how you fight Golovkin if you're not a draw. Not by whining and crying on Twitter or by beating Yuri fucken Foreman.

I'm all for the Andrade fight, he and Lara are at the top of the division and should make it happen.

    A) Andrade beats Lara, decisively.

    B) Lara had his chance to step his shit up against Canelo. Lost the fight, shouldn't have got knocked down.

    C) He could have stopped Delvin Rodriguez but pulled a Rigondeaux and opted for a UD.

    D) Fuck Lara. I guarantee he would hit the deck at least once against Golovkin.

Jacobs was the WBA regular champion mandated to fight GGG. Not very hard to get a fight in that case . I do agree that Lara needs to move up though.

I've said that if Lara can't get the top guys at his weight class to fight him, then he needs to move up. The Foreman fight does suck, but when you look at the top fighters at 154, you'll see a problem.

Jermall Charlo and Williams just fought
    Trout already beaten
    Vanes beaten twice
    Canelo already fought and unlikely
    Andrade avoiding Lara
Jermell Charlo is fighting Hatley in a mandatory defense

So the Foreman fight sucks complete ass. He should have chosen a better opponent, but there weren't any top guys to fight.

That's my point. The Canelos, Cottos, and Mayweathers of the world can get pretty much anyone they want in the ring in there with them.

Guys like Larathon, no. If he really wants it he needs to move to 160 and start beating guys to get ranked. If he's so anxious to fight Godlovkin he could've taken a nobody at 160 instead of Foreman.

Lara and his fat manager don't want it that bad, that's why he's fighting Yuri Foreman.

When has Lara made a genuine offer to fight GGG?

Hopefully Andrade will unify with him after this trash Yuri fight. He won't get the GGG fight without a belt, hell I don't think he gets any good fights without belts.. Risk vs reward isn't good enough with him. After his loss to Canelo everyone who doesn't want to fight him will just label him a runner or boring, and 'fans' of boxing will agree instead of try to push for a fight knowing how talented he is.

I agree, but if Lara moved up to 160 then you could say that he doesn't really want to fight Andrade that bad. After a while fans just have to demand that these fighters start fighting each other.

He needs to pick, he can't just log in to Twitter and fire 140 character callouts to everyone and their mom and expect them to drop everything and start offering him deals.

If he wants to unify 154 he should have his fat manager go all in on signing something with Andrade.

If he wants to commit suicide by Kazak Thunder, then he needs to start fighting at 160 to get in a spot where GGG and his team will take him seriously.

Why can't he want both? He calls these guys out and whoever responds gets the response. Austin Trout started off like that

Because he's not a draw and he's boring as shit.

When you're not a draw you don't get to call anyone you want out. You get ranked and pickup belts so that the top fighters in the division fight you. Andrade needs to give him that unification, we need to know who the top dog at 154 is.

Golovkin doesn't have to give him anything, he means nothing to his division.
