I hope it's OK to post this plug for http://www.britishboxers.co.uk. The site has gone through a few changes. Chris Maylett still owns and runs it, I've joined as Chief Editor and John Evans is with us too. There will be more content, columns from myself, John, Dewi Powell, Tony Bellew, Dave Coldwell, Peter Fury and possibly a few more people within the trade. Steve Lillis will send over the odd bit and I'm trying to persuade Ian Mac to dip his toes in again. John Murray and a few others will contribute blogs.

We're hoping to lure @Chinny in for the odd long-form piece.

    Any ideas welcome.

    Cheers,

    Terry

Cheers for the feedback. John was worried he sounded shit so will let him know. I've already lined up 5-6 people for that type of weekly article. I have asked others to try to get or source quotes. First week, columns will start going through soon so keep coming back.

Have a good BH weekend, chaps!

Bit of a dream team, this.

If Terry and John Evans are providing regular, original content it will do very well as they are respected and liked enough to have great access (without being anywhere close to cheerleaders) and thoughtful enough to nudge themselves and others in new and interesting directions. See Terry's BM/ 'scene article a while ago on depression for an example.

If they get Ian McNeeley back writing about the sport that will be a coup indeed.

And what's more, the adverts BB just showed me are of "Hot Russian women", although it may be these are targeted and say less about the website itself :rolleyes

@King Geedorah A couple of posters on here compiled some really interesting data on AIBA and how the 'random' selection of judges seems to always throw up a certain few for favoured nations and they always seem to be involved in dodgy decisions. @DrMo and @Rian016 have them banged to rights really, would be an interesting article to get out there and get a discussion going in the public domain.

This would be the basis of a great article in my opinion.

The BM online team, myself included, hint at corruption here, but a thorough investigation piece of the stuff Rian and Dr Mo pulled together is definitely warranted.

I'm sure if they wrote it up as an article it would be published by someone brave (possibly Terry) and it'd make an impact.

Cheers. I’ll have a look. Thanks for the shout out as well. Going with the Rashoman angle for my one so should tie in. We have columns by local fight figure Tommy Dixs up now and I’ll be adding an in-depth one with Billy Graham later today.

If you're doing a piece on AIBA it might be a good idea to try & contact Paul King, the former head of English boxing.

I'd also be very interested in any information you can find about their ITOs & who did what at Rio regarding selecting judges :good

Cheers. We're looking at moving beyond the northern. It's hard getting people to write for free these days though.

What a fascinating Frank Grant interview. Cheers for posting. I don't ever recall reading about Frank since he retired.

I remember watching Graham v Grant with my old man on BBC1! IIRC Grant wore belts of bullets around both shoulders while walking to the ring to The Terminator theme (T2 would have just been out). Intimidation factor turned up to eleven.

How refreshing too that he says he'd likely only beat Graham 2/10 times and would have avoided him if he could. The prostitutes and pimps comparison isn't exactly new but interesting to hear someone like Grant use it.

Great to hear Grant was happy and at peace retiring when he did too. I was surprised he lost to Neville Browne. Love this stuff.

I reckon @Trail , @Dynamito @Boxfan, @all at sea and @Makingweight in particular will enjoy this and the other long reads.
