Can't see it happening this year to be honest.

“I’m confident that I will be World Champion this year” – Hughie Fury

WBO World Heavyweight mandatory challenger Hughie Fury is confident of collecting gold in 2017 and doesn’t plan on stopping with just one belt.

The 22 year old rising star has raced to 20-0 and now finds himself in line to fight newly crowned WBO boss Joseph Parker, who edged past Andy Ruiz to win his maiden World Title live on BoxNation from Auckland back in December.

Fury announced on his Facebook page Thursday evening that he is determined to win one of the belts previously held by his cousin Tyson and intends to unify the division.

There isn't a man to beat him. No one discounting his chances can say how anybody beats him.

Come on John please have a bit of sense about you. Whether or not you believe Hughie will become a world champion isn't going to be determined on resume and thus should never be the first port of call when calling fights. Talent has and will always be the most important factor I'm sure you agree. Assessing talent and how that transcends into a fight scenario relies upon subjective interpretation, ie the ability to call a fight aka knowing your shit. That's why the prediction league is going to be good, whether or not members know their shit will be put to the test. You should get involved.

A lot of words there, none of which answer the actual question.

Who had Tyson fought before he beat Wlad? He got dropped by a cruiserweight and a light puncher, he went life an death with McDermott, going by resume's Wlad should have knocked him out in the first round.

Canelo has fought much better opposition then GGG so would you pick Canelo to win if they fought tomorrow? Fights aren't won on paper, records are for DJ's..

Hughie could beat Parker this year if they fight, I'd like to see him fight Ruiz jr or someone like that to see if he's healthy first.

I hope he's in some big fights, including for a world title. Not sure if he wins or not. Really unsure about just how good he is having not seen much of him against quality opposition. Hughie has a lot of fans so I'll give him his dues.

Who had Lucas Browne fought for you to say he would be a world champion?

As much as I agree hughie has a lot of ability and has looked good at times.he has also looked pretty bad in some fights as well.

    I can't overlook that.

There should be enough elements in this for people to see Hughie got moves that the other guys haven't seen. AJ would get boxed silly for instance.

The bookies have priced up Hughie as the favourite in a potential fight with Parker.

I think that's fair and the most likely outcome too.

So yes, for sure Hughie can become a World Champion this year IMO.

Not sure that should be the way.

Most likely he is favourite due to patriots lumping on and the bookies covering their asses.

Like most fights the odds are dictated by the amount bet.

Mate it's Hughie Fury, people don't know him to put enough money on that would make the bookies shorten the odds let alone any patriot effect. Just maybe they've had some large bets from some rich travellers but even then I don't think it would make that much of a difference.
